You’r Gonna Miss Me When I’M Gone Chapter 297

Chapter 297 I Miss You

White sheets lay beneath them on the soft, spacious bed Lucian loomed over Calista. His hands pressed down on her shoulders, causing her to sink further into the mattress

He cradled the back of her head and kissed her fervently. Calista arched her neck back as she was forced to endure his passionate kisses. Sometimes, soft moans would escape her

The room was dark, yet her face was visible. The woman’s eyes were half lidded Her pupils were glazed

with confusion and haze.

There was a tinge of red in her eyes. She looked as if she had been tormented mercilessly

The air in the room grew scalding. Calista involuntarily curled her fingers as if she had been humed Lucian’s gaze fell on her pale pink skin. He was burning with desire from the inside out

The woman’s fingers traced against his neck, the digits grazing the knot in his throat. His kisses grew more urgent. His well–defined hands held hers and pinned them into the white sheets.

The man’s deep, husky voice echoed in her ear.

Callie…”

Then, Calista positioned her foot on his shoulder. She exerted little force. It was as if she were teasing him. But he instantly rolled off her. A strong sense of weightlessness washed over him.

Lucian opened his eyes. Above him was a snow–white ceiling, and beneath him, dark–colored sheets. There were no lights in the room. Only a faint glow filtered in through the cracks in the curtains.

There was no Calista and no sensual scene in sight. He was lying in the master bedroom of the Everglade Manor. He had been dreaming. Everything that happened just now was a dream.

The dream was perfect. It left him with an extreme emptiness that enveloped his body and mind upon

waking up

Lucian frowned and switched on the bedside lamp. He lifted the covers and got ready to get out of bed to

smoke on the veranda.

He realized something was wrong the moment he moved. He couldn’t help but smile coldly when he

lowered his head

I

“Don’t see you being this energetic while I was married for three years. What’s the point of being so active

when she’s not around anymore?”

He covered himself in his quilt again. He was unable to hold back his outburst.

“What’s the point?”

Five minutes later, the irritated Lucian got up and went to the shower. He turned the faucet for cold water

before wrenching the flow up to its maximum pressure.

The icy droplets pelting against him brought a slight chill.

Lucian didn’t switch on the lights. Once the bathroom’s frosted glass door was shut tight, the faint light. seeping through the gaps between the curtains was blocked out.

In the pitch–black darkness, all that could be heard was the pattering of water and the man’s sharp and

deep gasps.

His back was pressed up against the cold tiled wall. Droplets of water cascaded down from the top of his

head, wetting his hair and trickling down his brow bone.

He tilted his head back, neck arching in a graceful curve. His Adam’s apple sat prominently in his sinewy

neck, bobbing up and down at a steady pace.

The man shuddered slightly as everything came to an end. A deep sigh escaped from his throat,

seductive and magnetic. The echo lingered in the damp air before disappearing completely.

Lucian looked down and opened his eyes. It took him a while to snap out of the afterglow.

He shut off the shower and wiped the water from his face with his hand. Then, he reached for the towel

on the rack.

The corners of his eyes stayed bloodshot after he stepped out of the bathroom. His breaths were

unsteady. He reached for the phone placed on his bedside table and called Calista.

This was a new phone that he had David buy for him. The SIM card was new too. Only Calista’s number

was saved in it.

Calista heard her phone ringing in her exhausted state. She fumbled around her nightstand with her eyes.

closed before locating her phone. Without checking for the caller ID, she answered the phone.

“Hello?” she dragged out her words weakly.

Her voice was thick with sleep. There was a brief moment of silence on the other end,

It wasn’t until the impatient Calista was close to nodding off that a soft voice said, “Callie.”

It was Lucian. She was wide awake in an instant. She lowered her phone from her ear to see the string of

So, she hadn’t accidentally removed him from her blacklist in her delirium. She then checked for the time

to see that it was 3:50 AM.

“Do you have any idea what time it is, Lucian?”

She still had to go to work the next day and had an overtime shift at the Baker Group at night.

Though the exterior design drafts had been submitted and the construction had started, the interior design plans were incomplete.

However, there was not much of a rush anymore. She only had to go occasionally.

Lucian’s deep and husky voice sounded particularly sexy in the quiet night. He sounded even more captivating than the midnight anchors who attract listeners with their voices. “I miss you,” he said.

His words were gentle as they trailed off.

The blatantly straightforward confession caught Calista off guard. But what surprised her even more was the unusual rise and fall of his voice. Her mind suddenly went blank.

Calista, in her daze, asked in

let “What are you doing?

Lucian’s voice seemed to carry traces of a smile.

“What are you thinking?”

Her thoughts were skewed and obscene. But, surely he wouldn’t do something so perverse. Perhaps shel was being a little too dirty–minded and misunderstood him.

Before she could reflect on her mistake, however, he spoke again, “I’m doing whatever it is you’re thinking

of.”

“Are you a fucking pervert, Lucian?” Calista was so angry that she couldn’t hold back her outburst. “Serves you right for being impotent. I hope you stay that way for the rest of your life.”

A flow chuckle came through the receiver, echoing in her ear. Nothing was happening. Lucian wasn’t even

in front of her. But her ears were burning

“I didn’t say anything, Callie. Why are you furiously cursing me with impotence? What were you thinking

anyway?
