Chapter 23 Wedding
The Duran family was a traditional family with over 100 years of history. Renee could tell from the servants‘ careful attitude that Freida. was a difficult woman.
The servant led Renee to the hall and stopped at the door. He said. “Mrs. Renee Duran, please.”
There was a lot of expensive wooden furniture in the hall. Some of them were even antiques. Whether the beautiful antique vase – purple clay tea set on the table could be precious collections in the auctions. However, in the Duran’s mansion, they could be seen everywhere.
There were many people in the hall. An old lady in a black cloth gown
looked low profile. Renee learned about embroidery and knew that the patterns must be master’s work.
sat at the head of the table. Although the go a black cloth gown
Freida didn’t look gentle. Even if she smiled, people would think she looked fierce. As Freida saw Renee coming in, she said indifferently, “She’s here now.”
Joanna looked back and saw Renee. She smiled, “Renee, come in.”
Renee walked to the crowd. Freida looked up and down at her and smiled, “Joanna, I think she can’t be compared with you. However, you can’t marry into the Duran family. If Tristan is still alive, I won’t allow her to marry Tristan. She is not worthy.”
Joanna was somewhat embarrassed. Although Freida praised her, Freida actually was saying that the Fletcher family didn’t keep their promise. Freida wanted Joanna. But the Fletcher family felt pity for
Joanna and sent Renee to the Duran family.
“Mrs Freida Duran, how can you say like that?” Klein didn’t like Freida and smiled meaningfully, “Mr. Duran is really a big shot in Ampleshire. If he’s alive, my sister might not be worthy of him. But he’s dead. You want my sister to marry a dead man. That’s ridiculous. My father agreed to keep the promise because of the deal my mother. made with Mrs. Kimberly Duran. You’d better not push us too far.”
Freida’s face immediately turned gloomy. “Chloe made the commitment herself!”
Hearing Freida mention his dead mother, Klein also put on a long face. “Back then, she was pregnant with Renee. Now that Renee married. into the Duran family, we didn’t break our promise.”
The atmosphere was tense. No one else dared to say something. After a while. Freida said coldly, “Klein, you must suffer because of your mouth in the future.”
“It’s none of your business.” Klein stood up and continued, “We come here to honor Mr. Duran and want to take Renee back to hold a banquet for her return. You should agree with it, right?”
Freida looked at Renee, who always lowered her head, and took a sip of tea. She snorted, “Of course I agree. I want the lady of the Fletcher family, not a country girl. If the Fletcher family doesn’t even announce her identity, how can I hold a wedding for her and Tristan?”
Rence didn’t care about their argument and thought it was interesting. However, when she heard Freida’s words just now, she was stunned.
Tristan died. How could he marry Renee? What did Freida mean by holding a wedding for them?
