Chapter 39
“Till definitely be ours, because you’re Cathie Wright.” Jango chuckled, looking at Mia with unwavering confidence.
Mia remained silent, casually curling up the corners of her mouth while pouring herself a glass of
As soon as auction time came around, the auctioneer stepped up to the stage, introducing the plots and the auction process and officially kicking things off.
Plot No. I was quickly bought by buyer No. 13.
“Is buyer No. 13 from the second–floor private room?” Mia glanced at Jango and asked.
“It doesn’t seem like it. I haven’t seen any activity in that room.”
Mia’s gaze turned dull, hoping that those two mysterious people weren’t eyeing the same piece of
land as her.
Unfortunately, plot No. 2 was also swiftly auctioned off, and there was still no movement from the second floor.
At that moment, Zeke, in the private room on the right side of the second floor, wore a disapproving expression. “It looks like Mr. Hall is interested in plot No. 3 too. His gut feeling proved right
“Next up for bidding is plot No. 3. the final piece of land in this auction,” the auctioneer announced with a grin. It was also the plot that Mia wanted to obtain.
Soon enough, a man in the crowd started raising his paddle.
The auctioneer started, “No. 5, 72 million dollars.
“No. 2, 76 million dollars.
“No. 6, 80 million dollars.”
The auctioneer bellowed, “No. 8, 81 million dollars!
“No. 6, 100 million dollars!”
“It’s a showdown between those two private rooms on the second floor. Jango had been keeping a close watch on the action from the second floor. When he realized that both of them vying for plot No. 3, his expression turned serious.
Just as I thought, those two people also have their eyes on plot No. 3. Mia observed the bids rising. her eyes growing dark. She couldn’t help but feel curious about who was trying to get the land from under her nose.
“Jango, figure out a way to eavesdrop on their intercoms.” Since she couldn’t see those second–floor people, she at least wanted to know what they were talking about.
“I’ll give it a try.” After all, it was an auction, and ordinary people couldn’t just hack in.
At the venue, No. 6 and 8 were still competing, and the bidding had already reached 160 million
dollars.
“Did you manage to hack in?” Mia anxiously asked.
“Alright, listen to this.” Jango handed her a pair of headphones.
“Mr. Wilson says to keep bidding.” Zeke’s assistant instructed the person in charge of raising the paddle inside the venue through a private intercom.
“Zeke!” Mia was shocked to hear Mr. Wilson being referred to as such.
Chapter 39
She wondered why he had come here since she hadn’t heard Simba tuention that Zeke wa interested in buying land.
She was at a loss. The land she wanted to get was also being eyed by Zeke. She couldn’t compete with him. With these thoughts in mind, she sighed.
“What’s wrong? Who is it?” Jango asked, seeing Mia’s troubled expression.
“It’s my brother, Mia replied, looking at Jango helplessly.
“Your brother?” Jango was instantly stunned upon hearing this. This was not good.
“No matter how much Mr. Wilson bids, we just need to outbid him,” Daniel’s voice instructed through the private intercom.
“That’s Daniel’s voice, huh?” Mia listened carefully.
“Daniel? Are you talking about Brandon’s secretary?”
“Yeah, it’s him!” Mia confirmed.
“So, Brandon is here too.” Jango’s mouth fell open even further.
He looked at Mia and asked, “How coincidentall Both of them are here. What are we going to do now?”
Mia was already in a tight spot with Zeke, and now Brandon had added fuel to the fire. It was blowing her mind.
“What are you going to do?” Jango asked, looking at her with a slightly worried expression.
“What else can I do? Since Zeke wants this piece of land, I’ll let him have it. But we can’t let it fall into Brandon’s hands.” Previously, just after Mia returned, Zeke had gifted her a limited–edition sports car. She would consider this land as a gift to repay him.
“Alright, but we don’t know which paddle belongs to Mr. Wilson and which one belongs to Mr. Hall.” Jango supported every decision Mia made.
“In that case, there’s only one solution: we need to secure the land first.” Mia calmed down and had her team raise the paddle. She was going to get involved in this.
“No. 6, 200 million dollars! Any more bids?” the auctioneer shouted with excitement.
“No. 7, 210 million!” Just when everyone thought that the deal was sealed by No. 6, No. 7 suddenly joined the fray, instantly drawing everyone’s attention.
“Who is No. 7? I’ve never seen him around,” someone muttered in the crowd.
“He looks young. Maybe he is some rich kid who just came back from studying abroad. People started guessing in the hall.
Brandon and Zeke were caught off guard by the unexpected appearance of No. 7.
“Well, well, well, it looks like Mr. Hall has some competition. Now it gets interesting.” Zeke
commented.
“I’m curious to see who this mystery bidder is. I’ll go have a look.” Zeke couldn’t resist his curiosity and walked out of the VIP room to peek downstairs.
“I don’t recognize that person,” he said, looking down at the young man holding the No. 7 paddle.
At that moment, Brandon also stepped out of the VIP room and saw that No. 7 was a young man.
“Who is this guy? Find out everything about him,” Brandon ordered Daniel, who was next to him.
“Yes, sir.”

Chapter 79
“Mr. Hall, today’s auction is getting more and more thrilling Zeke smirked as he saw Brandon. coming out as well
“Mr. Hall, we couldn’t find any information on that person, Daniel reported back to Brandon. “Mr. Wilson, you didn’t hire someone to mess with us, did you?” Brandon eyed Zeke calmly.
“I’m not so boring, but it seems like you don’t know this guy either, Mr. Hall,” Zeke said cautiously. “Whoever he is, the land is mine today.” Brandon gave Daniel a meaningful look.
The bidding continued, with No. 7 always outbidding Brandon and Zeke.
“Mr. Hall, it seems like he wants this land more than we do,” Zeke said, squinting slightly.
Brandon glanced at Zeke and said. “You’re backing out.”
“The price has gone way over the value of this land. I’m not interested anymore. If you want it, Mr. Hall, be my guest, Zeke said politely, giving up on the bid.
“Mr. Wilson, you’re so nice,” Brandon said, focusing on the mystery man.
“Mr. Hall, the bid is now at 280 million dollars,” Daniel reported.
Brandon glanced at Daniel. If he kept going, it would go beyond his limit. The price had already reached his highest offer. He didn’t expect this guy, No. 7, to be such a tough nut to crack. It seemed he would lose this land.
“Even a guy as smart as Mr. Wilson is not bidding anymore. Why should we?” Brandon said.
“Keep an eye on who gets plot No. 3,” he told Daniel.
“Yes, sir.”
“No. 7, 281 million dollars.
“281 million! Are there any more bids?
“None. 281 million dollars going once… 281 million dollars going twice… sold!”
In the VIP room on the third floor, Jango looked excitedly at Mia and said, “We land!”
and said,
So iL We got the
Mia let out a sigh of relief. It was not easy to compete against them both. If she didn’t have enough power, she wouldn’t have stood a chance.
“What’s next?” Jango asked, looking at Mia.
