Chapter 302 Being Bullied
Calista was brought to the couch by Lucian.
“Sit still. I’ll treat your wound.”
She was stunned. What she didn’t expect was that he forced her here just to treat her wound. As she lifted her head, she met with his dark eyes, which were filled with traces of glee.
“You already knew I can’t get hard. So what can I do to you?”
Lucian kneeled on one leg as he took out a mini first–aid kit from the drawer beside him.
“Were you bullied?” he asked, as he wiped the wound with a cotton swab dipped in medicine.
Calista didn’t regard herself as being bullied. Even if she was bullied, it was also because the bully was
humiliated by her success.
So be it getting knocked over by Thomas, or being suspected in front of so many people, she didn’t have
any reaction in particular.
But now when Lucian asked her, she suddenly held her breath, her heart clenched tight uncontrollably.
Her gaze was fixated on his heavy–lidded eyes and straight nose.
After a few seconds, she shifted her gaze away promptly.
“No,” Calista said in a low, hollow–sounding tone.
Anyone could tell from her voice that she was aggrieved, yet she was unwilling to admit to her feelings.
Lucian lifted his head and said casually, “I’ll be with you.”
She didn’t understand what he meant by that. He put the first–aid kit back and got up. He lowered his head
and looked at her.
“Are you hungry?”
According to the time, Calista rushed here immediately after she got off work. She shook her head.
“Nope
Right after she said so, her stomach growled. She only had cereal this morning. She planned to eat more
in the afternoon, but who knew she would end up being Involved in such a horrible incident?
Her appetite was gone so she only had toast.
“I’ll go cook us something,” said Lucian as he ruffled her hair. It was a very intimate act
Calista got up. As she was about to refuse, his hand on her head pressed her down with more force, pinning her back to the couch,
7’ll send you back after you eat.”
Lucian paused for a while and continued, “I still have a fever. So don’t say stuff that’s gonna upset me, for
the sake of me as the patient now.”
The temperature of the hand on her head was perfectly normal, even slightly lower than the normal
temperature.
“Or do you want me to accompany you back to your cramped, little apartment to have a meal together?”
This asshole was threatening her, Calista glared resentfully at him and snorted.
“It would’ve been more convincing if you’d just gotten out of a hot shower.”
Lucian smirked.
“If you’re tired, you can go take a rest, or freshen up a bit. Your things are still in the bathroom. The
housekeeper kept them in the cabinet. What do you wanna eat?”
Calista didn’t have the time to react since he changed the topic so quickly. She was at a loss for words.
“Call me once you’ve decided what you wanna eat.”
After Lucian left, she was left alone in this spacious room. The sound of the crickets from the window made the silence seem more overwhelming.
Calista shifted her body as she was getting quite bored. She didn’t want to look at her phone either, as her eyes were tired out from work today.
Her gaze swept across the room. And for no reason at all, her gaze landed on the bathroom.
Maybe because she was too bored, or her back had been hurting from sitting too long during the day, she got up and headed for the bathroom.
Lucian just took a shower, so the floor was still wet. However, the air was dry. He deserved to be sick. He still took a cold shower although he had a fever.
Why didn’t he just die instead if he’s hurting himself this way?
Calista opened the cabinet’s drawer. The toiletries she used previously were all aligned properly in It, She was stunned for a while, then she went to take a look at the dressing table
She remembered when she moved out, she took all her skincare and makeup products with her. However, the drawers here were filled with the products she usually used.
The amount of clothes remained the same, but initially there were already a lot of clothes. Even though she took some away, her wardrobe still seemed pretty extravagant.
Everything remained the same as when she lived here. Calista couldn’t express how she felt at this exact moment. She closed the door of the walk–in closet and sat back on the couch.
It was a long and boring wait for Lucian to be done with preparing the meal. She had no idea what he was cooking and why he was taking so long.
She played with her phone for a while, and finally, fatigue took the better of her. She fell asleep on the couch. This heartwarming sight fell upon Lucian’s eyes as he opened the door.
Calista was curled up on the couch. She was deep asleep with a cushion in her arms. The warm lights cast a soft halo on her gorgeous features, whilst her long wavy hair covered half of her face.
Lucian halted his steps as he was about to step in. He turned off the main light, and left the dim light
strips on.
He subconsciously approached Calista with soft steps, even though the carpet could cover up the noise
of his footsteps
Calista was soundly asleep. She didn’t even budge an inch when Lucian squatted down in front of the
couch
She looked soft and gentle when she was asleep, contrasting to her daring self when she was awake. Her eyelashes cast shadows underneath her eyes, hiding her fatigue. She was breathing calmly.
Lucian reached out his hand, and his fingers fell upon her face. He felt as if the missing puzzle in his heart was finally completed with this touch. Even the usual spacious and tranquil room was filled with warmth.
Lucian came up to ask Calista to come down for the meal. But he changed his mind now. He reached for Calista and held her in his arms. He placed her on the bed.
When Calista was in Lucian’s arms, her brows furrowed shortly. Aside from that, she had no other reactions.
Just as he laid her down on the bed, she subconsciously turned and shifted into a most comfortable position. She fell into a deep sleep again. Half her head was buried in the pillow.
Lucian was staring at her when he sat beside the bed. After a while, he lifted the sheets and lay down as
He was worried that he might wake her up, so he stayed in the same position for quite some time. But after a few minutes, he finally couldn’t hold it in. He reached for Calista and took her in his arms gently.
Her scent filled the air. He finally felt content after these past six months. He had no other desire and intention. He just wanted to hold her in his arms.
He had been suffering from insomnia recently because of Calista’s refusal, busy work and immense stress. However, he started to feel a bit drowsy after staring at her for a few minutes.
The next day, Calista’s internal clock woke her up. As soon as she regained her senses, she realized an arm was lying on her waist. She was startled and her eyes widened immediately.
Lucian’s handsome face was the first thing that came to her sig
sight.
Calista’s initial reaction was that she was still dreaming. She even forgot to get Lucian’s arm away from her. Her gaze swept past his captivating and perfectly sculpted features.
It wasn’t that she had never encountered him sleeping before. Previously, they had such a huge distance between them on the bed that could fit two people. This was a first for her to look at him closely.
Calista had to admit that Lucian was really blessed with good looks. He’s the type of guy women fall
heads over heels for.
So she couldn’t help but to be mesmerized by his looks despite their unpleasant past. Lucian opened his
eyes.
“Are you awake?”
