Chapter 294 He’s Submissive
Lucian, the brute, was biting Calista. It was a genuine bite. The tingling, stinging touch of his lips was filled with a clear sentiment of someone throwing a tantrum.
The kiss was rough and aggressive. The hand that rested against her waist had gone from warm to
scorching
The tip of his tongue would sometimes brush over the base of her tongue, leaving Calista extremely uncomfortable. She threw up her hands against his chest to forcefully push him away.
The more she resisted, the fiercer Lucian’s assault became. She bit down on his tongue a little too harshly
and drew blood.
“Tch.”
The man grunted in pain and released her.
His tongue swept over his lips, leaving an obvious blood stain on it. Paired with his stunning looks, he
looked like a fictional noble prince who thrived on blood. It invoked no fear at all.
Lucian swiped his fingers against his lips and presented the digit stained with blood to Calista. There’s a
nonchalance to his actions.
“See for yourself. Not only did I fail to seduce you, but you bit me hard enough to draw blood.”
Calista kept silent.
“Judging by your expression, you look like you want to slap me.”
She forcefully pushed him away. This time, Lucian let her go without a fight. He grabbed a tissue and
elegantly wiped away the bloodstain on his lips.
Calista used the back of her hand to rub at her mouth. There was no blood.
“I told you to lay a honey trap, not act like a sleaze who forcefully kisses others.”
“see,” he responded lazily. “David recommended a soap opera. Isn’t that how men are supposed to court
women?
She glared at him and wiped her lips again with her sleeve. She sneered.
“Go ahead and try wooing Ms. Jacquez that way. I’m sure she’ll be blushing and bowing to your charm in
no time.
With that, she pushed open the car door and got out.
Lucian watched her retreating figure. His initially lukewarm smile faded in an instant. The woman was truly as heartless as they come. To think she dared to bring up using his looks to seduce other women.
Yara was waiting at the entrance of the tea house and was throwing awkward looks at Calista, who was storming toward her.
She had just received a message from Calista claiming that she had some business to attend to and to go on ahead without her.
Yet, the moment she set foot outside, she witnessed Lucian pining Calista down in the passenger seat and kissing her. The sight left her in a state of shock.
Lucian’s car windows were shut and tinted. The average person wouldn’t notice a thing unless they happened to walk by. However, Yara was familiar with his car and the pair that were inside.
Even if only half of Calista’s face could be seen because of the obstruction, she would be able to tell from
a glance,
She thought about Calista’s assurance that she wouldn’t see Lucian before she headed upstairs. And yet, in such a short period, she found them with their lips passionately locked together.
Yara’s imagination ran wild, making up scenarios of a love–hate relationship between the three people.. She pointed to red, swollen, and thoroughly ravaged lips.
“Should I get you a mask?”
Calista was just about to speak when Vivian descended the steps with her hand gracefully trailing down
the handrail.
“I can’t find Lucian anywhere, Claude. He left with you just now. Have you seen him?”
“No.”
Encouraging Lucian to seduce Vivian was merely her attempt at provoking him. She didn’t want him to meddle in the matter between her and the Jacquez family. She had no intention of playing matchmaker.
No one knew what Vivian’s true intentions were. So, she wasn’t going to get involved in this mess. Being a
matchmaker for an affluent family was no easy task.
She turned to look at the spot where Lucian’s car was parked and found that there was a different vehicle
there now.
Vivian’s gaze swept over Calista’s lips and looked away. She acted as if she hadn’t seen a thing.
“Alright. We had dinner plans but I suppose he had urgent business to attend to. I still have things going on, so I’ll be leaving now. I’ll see you tomorrow.”
Yara narrowed her eyes as she watched Vivian climb into a car encrusted with jewels that sparkled blindly in the sunlight. She clicked her tongue.
“Of course, she’s a rose with thorns.”
Calista raised a brow.
“What do you mean?”
“Matchmaking among the wealthy is one thing. Even in ordinary relationships, people tend to look into everything about their potential partner. They look into their family and friends, whether they have a history of domestic violence, genetic diseases, or bad habits, and if they get along with their potential in- laws. ‘I don’t think she happened to come to Capeton and fell in love with Lucian at first sight.”
Yara despised scheming women. It had her brows furrowing.
“Even if that were the case, she must know that you’re Lucian’s ex–wife. The ex–husband and wife vanished together and the ex–wife returned with swollen lips… Even an idiot can put two and two together. But, she didn’t question a thing and instead pretended to ask you if you’d seen Lucian. She’s a
calculative one…
Yara suddenly paused as she stared at something. Her eyes were bulging out of her head. Calista had never seen her friend so astonished before. She turned to her with a puzzled expression.
“What’s going on?”
Across the street, Timothy had a man in his arms. The muscles in his arms visibly bulged with the
intensity of his grip. Calista gulped.
“It’s Mr. Howard …”
Yara also swallowed.
When she finally recovered, she said, “He has quite the bold taste. But the man looks so gentle and
subservient. He’s the submissive one.”
queer!
Calista was rendered speechless. She had the privilege of reading a classic that Yara had
recommended.
After finishing it, her perspective on life changed. Since then, she hadn’t read anything like that again.
Yara nudged her friend with her elbow.
“Let’s go. If we keep staring at them, it’s going to get real awkward when they notice us.”
She had to hold back her fiery temper to maintain her friendship with Timothy. After she managed to find him the antique of his choice, it left him indebted to her.
Counting on him to help her out was a stretch. If he discovered them, she would be lucky if he didn’t outright kill to silence her. The two of them sped away, fearing they’d be caught.
It wasn’t until they got back to the car that Yara could heave a sigh.
“This combination of personalities is my favorite. It’s so full of flair. It’s a pity I can’t openly watch them being lovey–dovey with each other,” she exclaimed.
She gave Calista a sad look as she thought about her previous ship. It was probably over.
Calista had no idea of the thoughts that were running through her friend’s mind. She wasn’t interested in whether Timothy preferred men or women. Her eyes were fixed on her WhatsApp.
David had sent her a text that said, “Stay away from Vivian Jacquez.”
It was Lucian’s handiwork. She didn’t bother to reply. She locked her phone and tossed it back into her
bag.
In the following days, Vivian came to the museum every day. She began to grow close with Calista.
On a Saturday night at the Luminary Lounge, Vivian was dressed in a fitted black mini dress. She had a
Calista’s ear. glass of wine in hand as she swayed to the music’s rhythm. She leaned close to
“Back in Apthon, I heard that Luminary Lounge is the most luxurious and safest club that offers a variety of programs in Capeton. After seeing it for myself, it’s better than the places I usually frequent.”
Calista was just about to reply when someone approached their table and stood still. They cast a shadow that completely enveloped her. She looked up to meet Lucian’s cold and indifferent gaze.
“Are you ignoring me?”
