You’r Gonna Miss Me When I’M Gone Chapter 135

Chapter 135 Someone’s in Deep Trouble

Are you sure you wanna wait for him?”

Lucian sounded perfectly calm. But if one were to listen to him closely, a tinge of malevolence

could be spotted in his words.

“Yeah,” replied Calista casually as she leaned against the metal bench.

She looked like she was about to nod off with her eyes half closed. How would people think of her

if she were to leave now when Hector was still held in custody? He was the one who saved her.

Lucian’s anger peaked when he heard Calista’s reply. He pulled her up from the bench.

“I’ve already told Timothy about this. He’s on his way now and he’ll make sure that Hector will be

fine. I’ll bring you back to rest.”

Lucian’s actions might seem rough, but he didn’t hurt Calista. His lips tightened as he stared at

her menacingly.

He’ll be released in at most three hours. However, if you insist on staying here, then maybe you’ll

see him in jail tomorrow,” Lucian threatened Calista icily.

The injury assessment isn’t out yet, and your final decision decides his future.”

Calista widened her eyes in shock. She wouldn’t doubt Lucian for what he said earlier on.

I’ll go back on my own,” replied Calista with disgust.

She whipped her hand out from Lucian’s grip. She stumbled upon Timothy as she stepped out of the police station. She sneered at him as she strode past the well–dressed lawyer.

This man was good–looking, but he was as evil as Lucian. No wonder he got along well with Lucian because birds of a feather surely flock together. Timothy was blamed out of the blue.

Calista was about to hail a cab, but she was forced into the car by Lucian. Fortunatelyhe didn’t refuse to send her back to her condominium. Silence filled the car as they headed back to Calista’s

condominium.

Calista fell asleep in the car after she messaged Hector. She vaguely heard Lucian apologize as she was about to fall asleep.

.

“Sorry. I was too late.”

Although he was uttering his apologies in a low tone, she managed to catch what he said. Calista

opened her eyes abruptly.

The sunset glow fell upon her eyes and everything seemed so hazy in a split second. She

suddenly fell into a trance and finally regained her senses after quite some time.

“Don’t feel sorry about it. I’m not blaming you.”

She did hope it was Lucian when Hector appeared. But as she came back to her senses, she

realized she was being unrealistic.

Logically, Lucian wouldn’t have arrived at the scene on time. It would be unreasonable for her to

shift the blame on Lucian for coming late.

“But you managed to arrive at the scene in such a short time. I mean it,” said Calista sincerely.

If she was in his shoes, she wouldn’t be able to track down the person even after weeks. However,

Lucian didn’t feel any better after her ‘words of comfort‘. Instead, he felt worse.

It was fortunate that the police had evidence that the gang was equipped with weapons.

But at the same time, Lucian was worried to death as Calista would’ve been harmed if they really

decided to take it out on her.

Lucian stared at Calista for a while and smirked.

“Of course, you wouldn’t blame me for being late. There was already someone who got there on

time.”

Calista yearned to slap him when she had to put up with his weird and uncanny behavior.

“Oh yeah, for sure. If it wasn’t for Hector, bet you’d already be late to my funeral.”

So now I’m the one to blame too? Just because I didn’t shift the blame on him? Then I’ll do as he

likes then!” Calista thought.

“Why is Hector there at such a late hour?”

“Maybe because we can communicate through telepathy,” Calista wasn’t even a single bit afraid to piss Lucian off, “That’s why he came to me first when I was in danger.”

Lucian scoffed.

“So you’re not worried that he might not be released any time soon.”

Calista turned and glared at him.

They arrived at her condominium. Lucian didn’t go up with her but he sent some people to follow her upstairs.

Those people stepped out of the car that had been following them. Calista could tell that those were familiar faces.

“Go on. They’ll be by your door tonight. Don’t worry.”

Calista remained silent. She entered the condominium shortly.

Those bodyguards were stopped by the guard on duty before they could even follow Calista back to her place.

The registration process was extremely meticulous. The guard was probably aware that Lucian was watching them from a distance.

When the bodyguards were finally done with the necessary procedures, Calista was already sinking into the distance. The street lights cast a hazy halo on her figure.

Calista called Hector as she reached home to make sure that he was fine. She was relieved as Hector had already been released1

Can you imagine how I felt when I was finally released then I found out that you’re already gone. It’s so cruel of you! You could’ve accompanied me to the hospital to see whether I was injured.”

Calista answered, “Sorry, I was-”

Hector interrupted, “Never mind. I knew it must be Lucian who threatened you. Or else with that kind nature of yoursyou wouldn’t leave me alone back there, would youI’ll keep our supper date in mind. Let’s meet again once this is over.”

“Sure.

After Calista hung up the callshe tossed her phone on the bed She proceeded to the bathroom to take a bath

When she stepped out of the bathroom, she realized that Timothy called her. The call probably

+15 BONUS

The sole purpose of any communication between Timothy and Calista was regarding her divorce

case. He was extremely proper and sensible, so it didn’t sound quite right of him to call her at

such a late hour.

Even if it was anything regarding the divorce papers, Timothy would only contact her during the

day. They met earlier on at the police station. He didn’t seem like he had anything to discuss with

her.

Calista was still hesitating on whether to call him back and then Timothy’s call came in again.

Before she could even respond after she picked up the call, Timothy said in a jiffy, “Mrs.

Northwood, please come to Everglade Manor now.”

Although it wasn’t evident, he sounded quite urgent which contrasted his usual nonchalant

attitude. Calista frowned.

“What is it?”

She was extremely reluctant to step into Everglade Manor ever again. Unless she needed to do so.

Timothy replied, “Someone’s in deep trouble.
