One look at Lucian’s attitude and the sarcastic tone of voice, Calista knew he had heard everything.
Lily had failed to get her way with her that morning and left for a few minutes. When she
returned, her mood had visibly improved.
And now Lucian showed up when lunchtime rolled around. It was clear from his tone that he was
degrading her. So, he was here seeking revenge on his lover’s behalf.
Calista had a busy day as a puppet on strings being directed to perform. She was exhausted. And
now she had to face this man picking on her after finishing up. Her expression darkened.
She set aside her phone on the table. The clear thud could be heard. She crossed her arms, leaned
against the backrest, and got straight to the point.
“So, what does Lily want? Does she want her money back? She can dream on.”
There was a certain gloom in his eyes.
“We’re discussing the matter concerning Claude. Don’t go involving an outsider.”
“Outsider? Lily called you this morning, didn’t she? Did she tattle about me? Is that why you’re
here insulting me by insinuating that I should sell myself for resources? Are you sure you aren’t
going out of your way to humiliate me just so she can get a one–up on me?”
“The only reason she can run her mouth is because you did something behind my back. Just
because you can do it doesn’t mean she can’t report your actions to me.”
He leaned close. The air around him grew colder.
“Why didn’t you tell me about your identity as Claude?”
“Why should I tell you? Do you have relics you want me to restore?”
The man was smirking.

Calista fell silent as memories of the past rushed over her. Bitterness and frustration rose in her
heart. She smiled.
“Have you ever bothered to ask? My workspace is right next to your study I’ve never locked the
whole years, you chose to turn a blind eye.”

Lucian’s head was tilted slightly. The restaurant’s dim lighting had his short hair casting
shadows on his eyes. His emotions remained unreadable. He said nothing when faced with her questioning.
It was unclear if he was experiencing a sudden pang of guilt or if he couldn’t comprehend her deep
-seated resentment.
“You had David investigate my goings–on after I resigned from the Northwood Corporation. He told you I was working as a janitor at Justa and you believed it. Has it ever occurred to you that I’m a graduate of a prestigious university and a former employee of the Northwood Corporation? Why would I end up working as a janitor?”
She recounted how those from the workshop would refer to her as Claude. She also publicly restored a painting at the birthday party.
There were so many signs. Anyone who thought about it would’ve figured it out. But Lucian
remained oblivious.
To be able to manage a massive corporation in such a well–organized manner and allow it to flourish meant Lucian’s mind was unfathomable.
If that were the case, there was only one explanation. He didn’t care. That was why he had been so oblivious.
That was when the waiter began to serve them their food. But Calista had lost her appetite. She grabbed her purse and got to her feet.
Lucian finally reacted and reached out to grab her by her wrist.

The filming of the show continued in the following days. Calista had worked herself to the bone. It
