Chapter 69
Caden Bates had no intention of escalating the conflict, but Celeste’s
attitude made it clear she wasn’t keen on letting things end so easily. And
Kendric seemingly didn’t wanna stop her either.
Caden gave a smile, “fine. Now that both sides have made mistakes, why
not shake hands and offer apologies to each other? Don’t make these trifles ruin.
your friendship.”
Celeste sneered but didn’t utter a word.
Caden turned to Kendric, maintaining his benevolent smile. He was pretty
sure that Kendric would give him face.
However, Kendric had his arm around Celeste’s waist and said, “who’s
right, who’s wrong, we better make it clear.”
Caden’s 60th birthday celebration was now totally ruined, and he couldn’t
keep up his smiling facade.
“Mr. Bates.”
The young man standing beside Caden smirked, “you might not care about
right and wrong, but for our young folks… we care it much.”
The young man was none other than Ezra Winters. Compared to Kendric,
he had a more unpredictable temperament.
Just like now, at first he appeared to be a mere spectator, but now he chose.
to chime in at the most crucial moment.
“To keep things fair, Mr. Bates, I suggest that we outsiders all join in to pass.
judgment.”
Redeemed From Catted Love
The second floor was once again packed with people.
“Is Ophelia awake?”
“Not yet.”
“Well then, Mrs. Quinn, could you please tell us what happened just now?”
Among those involved, Madelyn was the elder, so she should be the first one to
speak.
Madelyn gripped her hands uneasily, almost wishing she could instantly
remove the bracelet from her wrist.
“Celeste… she claimed that Ophelia stole her things.”
Then why were you there?”
“…” Madelyn hesitated, “…and I.”
Madelyn felt too embarrassed to utter the word “stole,” so she said, “she
alleged that Ophelia and I took her things.”
Gavin jumped out of the crowd. “What a joke! My family can afford.
anything my sister want. She doesn’t need to take it from you!”
Celeste sat in a chair, and Kendric had Luke fetch a cushion for her to ease
the pain in her waist.
“As you said, your family is so well–off, so why would Ophelia have to resort
to stealing?”
“So, you think Mrs. Quinn and Ophelia stole your things, and that’s why you
accidentally injured Ophelia during your conflict, is that so?”
Redeemed From Caged Love

Gavin was quite cunning, a master at twisting the facts. He was trying to
blame everything to Celeste.
“Mr. Bates, I didn’t touch your daughter. I confronted Mrs. Quinn and
Ophelia and was about to call the cops, it’s Ophelia who suddenly charged over
to me and hurt my waist.”
Gavin said with a sardonic tone

lay on the ground herself?”
“you mean you’re the victim, and my sister
Celeste chuckled, “well, it’s not entirely impossible.”
Kendric turned to Luke and ordered, “wake up Ophelia.”
Then he turned back, “I hope you won’t take offense, will you?”
Gavin carefully reminded, “Ken, my
s still in a coma.”
Kendrie–didn’t seem overly worried. “No worries, Luke knows how to
awake her.”
A few minutes later, Ophelia entered with a pitiful look. Caden asked her some questions, but she denied everything. She teared up, her voice quivering, “I didn’t steal her things. Why is Celeste wronging me? My jewelries look the same as hers, but it doesn’t mean I stole them! My family can afford them.”
Some people nodded their head in approval.
Ophelia was panic initially, but now she regained her composure.
“Celeste, I don’t get why you’re trying to frame me like this,” Ophelia cried
Gavin shouted, “is it because I gave you a slap last time, and you’re out for
revenge on my sister?”
Kendric’s gaze turned piercing. “YOU SLAPPED HER?”
Gavin didn’t seem the least bit remorseful, “that’s because Celeste insulted
Ophelia…”
Celeste cut in, “should I let everyone hear how you insulted me? Your words
were way more foul than anything I said.”
Gavin Bates was one of those people who considered himself superior. He
believed he was inherently more noble than Celeste this country girl. His
nobility came from his bones, his blood, and his genes.
“What’s the big deal about insulting you? You’re a nasty snob who only
aims for money.”
Kendric’s anger was flaring up, “I told you to look after Celeste while I was
away, but you dare insult her.”
Gavin seemed determined to expose Celeste’s secrets. “Ken, you’ve been
hoodwinked by this woman.”
“She met other men numerous times while you were away, spending your
money on gifts for them,” he continued, pointing an accusing finger at Celeste.
“She’s a double–dealer, a shameless bitch!”
“FUCK YOU!”
Kendric abruptly jumped out of his seat and gave Gavin a hard kick. It was
so forceful that Gavin tumbled backward and ended up
Un the floor.
Celeste stood there in silence.
All the eyes in the room were fixated on her, and her heart felt like it had
been put through the wringer.
She got up, “enough, i give you a kind remind. My initials are engraved on
the bracelet and the diamond necklace that Ophelia is wearing.
She let out a gentle sigh, “as for the rest, let’s leave that for the police to
handle.”
Caden stood up, likely wanting to say something, but Celeste had already
walked away without giving him a chance to speak.
Caden’s intended to resolve the matter right here, to prevent it from
escalating. However, Gavin’s words had directly led to the worst possible
outcome.
When Ophelia heard the word police, she was petrified. She took off the
necklace and bracelet hastily, “no, it’s not me. I didn’t… I…”
Kendric gazed after Celeste. The matters hadn’t been totally solved, so he
couldn’t leave. He ordered Luke, “follow her.”
