Chapter 15
“I don’t wanna put my heart into you anymore, nor do I wanna move back to your family,” Celeste used every ounce of her strength. “From now on… let’s go our separate ways.” After letting these words out, she felt a sense of relief.
Kendric stood in the bright light of the floor lamp, his broad back blocking the light, creating a large dark shadow.
The tension in the room was palpable.
“You realize what you’re saying?”
Of course, Celeste knew exactly what she was saying. She had been mulling over the words “breaking up” for more than three months, maybe three years.
He closed step by step, until she was nowhere to hide, and she could feel
the subtle signs of anger emanating from him.
It was faint but hard to ignore.
In truth, Kendric hadn’t lost his temper in a long time. Over the past couple
of years, he had mastered the art of hiding his emotions.
Celeste had even attempted to gauge her place in his heart, but no matter
what she did, he behaved indifferent.
And after placating him for so many years, it had almost become a reflex
for her to bow her head first whenever he got angry.
Under the heavy atmosphere, Celeste struggled to continue, “you don’t love
me, and there’s no point in us carrying on this fruitless relationship.”
This was her heartfelt thoughts. Sometimes, she would doubt whether it
was really because of her that Kendric rarely returned home.

But as time passed, she realized that it didn’t really matter. The undeniable truth was that for the past three years, he had been giving her cold shoulders.
She wanted to handle the breakup in a more peaceful way, so she lowered her voice and explained, “during these past few years we’ve been together, I can tell you haven’t been really happy… truth be told, me either.”
They had been together for eight years, they barely saw each other once a
year and hardly had deep talks.
He cut her off, “so you are you regretting it?”
Celeste hadn’t finished her sentence. She was left half–opened–mouthed, staring at him in surprise. There was a hint of moisture in her eyes.
“Celeste, what’s the point of bringing all of this up now? You should have known what laid ahead when you moved into my family eight years ago and declared yourself my fiancée. And this is your arm choice.”

out.
Celeste parted her lips, attempting to explain something, but nothing came
She had only just realized that Kendric had always taken her love for
granted.
Not only did he fail to reciprocate the love she had poured into the
relationship, but he even seemed to think that all of this was a result of her own

choices.
She blinked, fighting back her tears. She was on the verge of collapsing.
Her body wobbled, and she searched for something to hold onto. As her body leaned ever so slightly, his hand swiftly reached out pulling her close into
his arms.
She hates this icy embrace devoid of any warmth.
“Let go of me!” she exclaimed.
Kendric held her firmly in arms, but he was delivering the harshest words.
at the most intimate posture.
“Celeste, you’ve had a crush on me for eight years, and now you want us to
go our separate ways. Are you testing me or yourself?”
It seemed like this breakup was tormenting her alone from start to finish.
Celeste struggled fiercely in his embrace. If she had a knife, she would have
ruthlessly cut open his chest, to see if his heart was made of stone.
“Kendric, why do you always treat me this way?”
Tears streamed down uncontrollably. “Fine, I admit my fault, I was wrong.”
His expression finally softened as he heard her confession.
“I was wrong to have loved you from the beginning. I was wrong to have
waited for you all these years. I was wrong for being so infatuated with you.”
“I was wrong. I regretted. Is it enough?!”
Kendric’s eyes blazed with anger, and the veins on his forehead throbbed.
Redeemed From Caged Love
Celeste’s resolute “confession” seemed like shattering all his self–assured
arrogance.
“In this lifetime… except for me…”
As if pitying her struggle, he added, “you won’t fall in love with anyone
else.”
