Sienna sighed, “Cely, in the past, I genuinely thought that Kendric was a
scumbag, and he was not worthy of you.”
“But now—” her voice trailed away, and she carefully observed Celeste’s
expression for a moment.
“But now what?” Celeste asked.
“Now, I take his side. Okay, you can call me a turncoat or whatever, but I
have to be honest. Let me tell you something, and you’ll understand why I think
he is worthy of your love and you’re a lucky guy.”
“Okay, go ahead.”
Sienna bit her lip, “you haven’t been in contact with Eulalie for a long time,
have you?”
When it came to Eulalie, Celeste had a touch of sadness on face. She
recalled the last time she called Eulalie on Christmas. In the call, Eulalie had a
cold and distant attitude toward her throughout.
Celeste thought Eulalie was still upset about Manuel’s past crush on her. So
after giving her some blessings, Celeste hung up the phone.
After that, Celeste seldom made calls to Eulalie, and thus the contact was
cut off.

“Because Eulalie got depression last winter.” Sienna blurted out.

Until my brother found her secretly taking some ovulation–inducing drugs. They had a quarrel. Eulalie broke down and cried that she didn’t want to have a child at all.”
“And then? What’s Manuel attitude?”
“My brother loves her, so he would never force her to do anything.”
“Then why did she still get depression?”
Sienna slammed the wine glass on the table, “because those motherfucker McCartneys!”
“What did they do again?”
“At the end of last year, Eulalie’s younger brother got into trouble. He was arrested for drunk driving and the McCartney came ask us for help again…”

“Give up? Those fucking despicable snobs!” Sienna got herself another refill and continued, “you could never imagine what they did! At that time, Eulalie happened to be pregnant with my brother’s first child. They deceived her to
return, and then took her abroad using the excuse of a vacation.”
Celeste exclaimed, “they imprisoned Eulalie! Shit!”
“Exactly. They used Eulalie and her child to threaten my brother, forcing him to find way to bail out their motherfucker son, no matter the means.”
“They have lost their minds! He drunk drove, street raced and killed a poor woman! He escaped, and killed another poor guy on the way. Then he was wanted by the police. This incident aroused public outrage, and if my brother intervened, his career would be ruined!”
“When Eulalie arrived abroad, she was confined. She realized something was wrong and found an opportunity to call my brother. She told him not to agree to any of their demands no matter what.”
