slumped heavily in the chair. Celeste wiped the cold sweat on his forehead
caused by the pain.
She cursed through gritted teeth, “what a nasty skunk! How dare he threaten you!”
Thank goodness, he didn’t dare to act recklessly before he figured out the true situation.
Kendric took a few deep breaths. “Let’s go to the dining hall.”
The atmosphere at the dining table was thick with tension and hellish silence.

Celeste fidgeted in her seat. She was afraid that Kendric would really drink
