Chapter 5
Three years ago, if Jessica hadn’t left, and if his grandfather hadn’t coerced him into marrying Emilia, he would have wed Jessica.
Tears welled up in Jessica’s eyes once more, and she hugged him tenderly. “Nathan. I love you.”
Even though he was married, and she had spent three years overseas studying and apart from him. Nathan would still marry her if she returned.
She was the only one in his heart.
Nathan held her close, concern etched across his face. He comforted Jessica for a while and then received a work call.
The call lasted for two minutes.
After ending the call, Nathan lifted her and carried her back to the bed. speaking gently. “Jessica, do as the doctor says. I have something to attend to at the company. I must go back, but I’ll visit you later.”
Jessica nodded. “Okay”
Nathan tucked Jessica in, turned, and headed for the door.
As she witnessed the man’s departing figure fading from her view. Jessica’s pitiful expression promptly vanished.
She glanced at the closet and spoke with cold determination, “He’s gone.
Come out.”
A paparazzo emerged from the closet, wearing a smile. “Jessica, you’re quite the actress.”
The paparazzo thought, “She doesn’t need to sing or dance! With those acting skills, she’s destined for stardom as an actress!”
Jessica didn’t waste words on him. “Did you capture all the photos?”
The paparazzo smiled and replied, “It’s all on camera. I’ve also disseminated the rumors you wanted me to spread yesterday, and they’re already trending Should I do the same today?”

sure everyone knows about it.”
She had to inform Noah about Nathan’s divorce so that she could smoothly reunite with Nathan and marry into the Miller family.
Nathan’s reflection appeared on the car’s polished window. He casually crossed his slender fingers and gazed at the nighttime scenery outside, his mind slightly muddled, though it didn’t show on his typically impassive face.
Shawn couldn’t quite decipher Nathan’s thoughts. Recalling the recent findings, he spoke up. “Mr. Miller, there was considerable volatility in Saunders Group’s stock price today. It’s rumored that the Saunders family’s daughter has returned.”
Upon hearing this, Nathan raised an eyebrow, a hint of surprise briefly illuminating his otherwise stoic countenance. “But didn’t the Saunders. family’s daughter die in a car accident ten years ago?”
Before Shawn could respond, a news alert flashed across Nathan’s phone
screen.
[Three–Year Marriage of Miller Group’s President, Nathan, and Humble Girl Ends in Divorce Today!]
The news abruptly broke the silence in the car.
Nathan’s eyes narrowed as he gazed at the headline, which had garnered over a million clicks.
“Who did this?”
Witnessing Nathan’s disapproving expression upon seeing the news, Shawn quickly made a call to investigate the situation.
After a moment of contemplation, Nathan raised an eyebrow and issued a command, “Suppress any news related to my divorce from Emilia, especially to keep Grandpa in the dark
He frowned, fully aware that his grandfather had regarded Emilia as the Miller family’s savior and had coerced him into marrying her for that
very reason.

undoubtedly vehemently oppose it and cause trouble if he knew about it.
“Understood.”
Shawn noted Nathan’s somber expression mirrored in the window and nodded.
Nathan, however, retracted his gaze, his mind conjuring the familiar visage of Emilia, delicate and poised.
“Could this be Emilia’s doing? Heh. No wonder she didn’t ask me for money. It turned out that she has set up a trap!” he thought.
“Check Emilia’s whereabouts and see what she is doing,” Nathan instructed Shawn. He glanced at the latter coldly before adding, “If you confirm that it’s her who did it, bring her back immediately.”
“Understood, Mr. Miller.”
Meanwhile, Jason was caught off guard by Emilia’s sudden arrival.
His major project was on the verge of being financed.
Once the funding came through, all of the Saunders Group’s capital would flow to him, freeing him from worries. Receiving the funding would not only alleviate all of Jason’s financial concerns but also liberate him from the need to consider the Saunders family any longer.
However, this was not the opportune moment.
Emilia was the eldest daughter of the Saunders family. After years of acting, there was no need for him to unveil his true nature at that
moment.
Despite his irritation, Jason feigned a benevolent look as he gazed at Emilia.
“Emily, I’m truly delighted that you’ve returned. After all, the Saunders Group belongs to the Saunders family. I’ve merely been overseeing it.” He paused momentarily and continued, “Technically, now that you’re back, I should hand over the company to you. However, for all these years, it’s been Victoria and me who’ve been running the company. You haven’t been involved in the business, so you may not be familiar with it. How about this? I’ll arrange a position for you in the company first, and then we can wait until you become acclimated to the company
environment

Before Jason could finish his sentence, Emilia interjected, “There’s not need for that, Uncle Jason. Saunders Group was established by my father. As the eldest daughter of the Saunders family, I am the rightful heir and should assume control of Saunders Group.”
She regarded Jason with a cold smile before continuing, “I’ve returned to reclaim the Saunders Group and everything that rightfully belongs to the Saunders family. Do any of you have any objections?”
