Chapter 14
At that moment, Nathan’s phone suddenly rang.
It was a call from Jessica.
As soon as the call was answered, Nathan heard Jessica’s panicked voice. “Nathan, I was blocked by paparazzi in the hospital. Where are you? Can you pick me up?”
Along with Jessica’s voice, there was the frantic voice of her assistant. “Don’t push, don’t push, you’ve all pushed Jessica down! Jessica, are you okay? Get up quickly!”
Hearing that Jessica was pushed down, Nathan’s heart tightened.
“Wait for me there. I’ll pick you up right away.”
Nathan looked up at Shawn and instructed, “Go to the hospital. Keep investigating Emilia’s whereabouts.”
Nathan gradually felt Emilia’s identity was not as simple as she said.
He wondered if she really originated from the slum.
After Emilia fired Zack, the sales department manager, those shareholders had indeed become more subdued.
Although many people still refused to accept her, they did not dare to confront her openly.
After all, no one wanted to lose their jobs.
Many people struggle to secure a position in a large corporation like Saunders Group. They managed to secure the job opportunity with great. difficulty and worked hard for years to establish themselves, so they did. not want to risk getting fired.
However, they were wary of Emilia. After all, she was young, and those old, stubborn individuals tend to view her as a silly little girl. There were very few who genuinely accepted her authority behind the scenes.
They wondered why that inexperienced young lady was so arrogant and domineering.
They were all long–time employees of Saunders Group who had dedicated their entire lives to the company. Now, they were being

suppressed by a silly little girl and could not even raise their heads.
If it were not for the empire Jonah built for her, she would not even have the right to enter Saunders Group, let alone flaunt her authority in front of them.
None of the old shareholders was convinced. Fortunately, the position of general manager of the sales department was still vacant.
So the old shareholders wanted to place one of their own people in that position, making it easier for them to communicate and conduct business in the future.
Little did they expect that Emilia, despite her young age, would always be one step ahead of them in handling matters.
The person chosen by the old shareholders had not even taken up the position, yet they received a notification that a new general manager would be arriving that day.
However, they also simultaneously received news that the newly
appointed general manager of the sales department was none other than the person sent by Callen.
Moreover, the newcomer was a former colleague of Jonah, named. Raymond Zimmerman.
Everyone knew Raymond was a trusted confidant of Jonah when the latter was alive. However, Zack’s recent dismissal by Emilia was still vividly in one’s mind. No one dared to provoke her, so they could only swallow their pride and act cautiously.
After Jonah passed away, the company had fallen into the hands of Jason, and he had removed many of Jonah’s old associates, including Raymond.
When Raymond was forced out of Saunders Group by Jason back then, it was Callen who took him in, providing him with a job to make ends meet. and helping him through his life crisis.
Raymond had always been grateful to Callen for his kindness in sending belp in the hour of need.
So, when Callen sent him to Saunders Croup to take on the role of general manager of the sales department, Raymond readily accepted the
offer
Seeing Raymond, Einilia was slightly taken aback. He was a founding

member of the company, having helped Jonah build the company from the ground up. He was a capable and experienced individual.
Emilia still remembered Raymond used to visit their home frequently when she was young.
Even though it was for work discussions with Jonah, he would spend half an hour playing with her every time he came to their house. He often brought her favorite dolls as well.
When Raymond saw Emilia looking at him, his brows slightly furrowed, and a mix of excitement and astonishment appeared in his eyes.
He had been a subordinate of Jonah and was loyal to the latter. Now that Jonah’s daughter had returned, the Saunders Group was back in the hands of the Saunders family.
He was really happy for Emilia.
“I can’t believe Mr. Jonah Saunders‘ daughter has grown up so much!”
The little girl who used to be around their knees had grown into a young lady.
Gazing at the graceful and elegant Emilia standing before him, Raymond adjusted his glasses, and his sharp, discerning gaze suddenly intensified.
“Back when I was helping your father build the business, you were only this tall. Now you’ve become the heir to Saunders Group, in charge of the company’s affairs.”
“Mr. Zimmerman, I’m sorry for all these years of hardship you’ve
endured. You’re one of the founding members who helped Dad build this empire, and you shouldn’t be treated unfairly like this.”
Seeing Raymond, who used to lift her to ride on a big horse in the past, now with a touch of white at his temples, brought tears to Emilia’s eyes as memories flooded back, but she held them back.
Her resolute gaze locked onto him. In the past, she had subdued her brilliance, willingly giving up her bright future for Nathan.
Now, she was determined to rewrite her destiny!
“Now that I’m back, I’ll never let Saunders Group fall into others‘ hands again. Mr. Zimmerman, you’ll help me, right?”
As he looked at Emilia, Raymond’s sharp gaze focused. Jonah had treated

him generously, like a brother.
He had been lamenting for the Saunders family all these years. Now that Emilia had finally returned, he was willing to give his all, even if it meant putting his life on the line, to help her.
“Don’t worry! As long as I’m here, I’ll ensure to protect you and help you reclaim everything Jason took from the company over the years.”
