Chapter 136
“Are you okay?”
Chapter 136
Hearing this, Emilia looked to the side and smiled lightly. She asked casually, “Why shouldn’t I be?”
Martin knew she did not want to discuss the matter further, so he simply smiled and changed the topic.
“What do you think, Lia? Were you surprised when you saw me?”
Emilia raised an eyebrow. “I truly didn’t expect to see you here.”
“Why wouldn’t I be surprised?” she thought.
They had not seen each other for years, and Emilia did not anticipate meeting Martin at the summit coincidentally.
“A few years have passed, but you’re still the same as when we met the first time. You haven’t changed, Martin exclaimed. “You’re as beautiful as ever.”
“My beauty is nothing compared to yours.” Emilia winked at him and teased, “Everyone. knows how stunning you look, Mr. Parker. You make many women feel ashamed of themselves.”
“Why do I feel like you aren’t complimenting me, Lia?” Martin clutched his chest as if he were deeply hurt by her remarks. “I’m hurt.”
Seeing his acting, Emilia could not help but laugh. Even her gloomy mood caused by Nathan had improved much.
She knew Martin had noticed she was in a sullen mood, so he deliberately tried to cheer her up.
A few years ago, Emilia participated in the hackathon anonymously and utterly dominated Martin. He had never gotten second place before and felt embarrassed, so he insisted on investigating the dark horse gold medalist’s identity. Yet, no matter how much he looked around, he found nothing.
Emilia initially did not want to reveal her identity and intended to hide it. However, Martin. was too persistent and demanded the two to compete again. If she lost, she would agree to meet him.
Naturally, Martin came out as the loser again. However, Emilia thought Martin’s hacking skills were great this time. Like two heroes appreciating each other’s greatness, Emilia- agreed to meet him.
Then, they became friends, or more accurately, comrades with the same goal.

Martin looked at her with a hint of nostalgia in his eyes. He sighed and said, “Too bad. married someone three years ago without saying a word. My heart hurts. It’s not easy finding such a strong partner like you, Lia. If you ask me, I think you shouldn’t have gottent married. Instead, you should get into software development with me. We could’ve joined forces and run the world. Isn’t that more interesting?”
Emilia was a one–in–a–million pro in technology. She entered the competition anonymously because she wanted to maintain a low profile. However, she completely disappeared from the hacker field, and Martin thought it was a pity, especially after finding

out that she disappeared for three years because she had gotten married to a man who never knew to cherish her. Martin felt unworthy and heartbroken for her.
However, he could not let hier know his feelings for now, for fear of scaring her.
They still had time, so he could take his time.
As she heard this, Emilia’s eyes
darkened.
She truly loved software design, but she hid her identity to marry Nathan back then and never touched it again. Now that she thought about it, it was indeed a pity.
However, she captured some important information from Martin’s words.
“Were you doing software development these years? If I recall, weren’t you a network security engineer in the state security department? Are you going to throw away such a decent job?” Emilia teased.
She recalled Martin was specifically hired to design security software for the state security department. Later, he worked in the state security department and stayed in the capital. Emilia did not expect him to become a software development engineer after three years. He also came to Acocester to host the New Media Summit this time.
Martin put his index finger in front of his mouth and gently hushed her. Then, he said. mysteriously, “Don’t say it so loudly. In fact, that’s my secret side job.”
Looking at his exaggerated expression, Emilia did not believe him. She lightly punched his shoulder and said, “Be serious.”
Martin put away his joking attitude and stared at Emilia seriously. He blinked his captivating eyes, which looked alluring.
Nevertheless, Emilia was already immune to them and was unmoved.
He lowered his voice and whispered into Emilia’s ear, “Okay, fine. Actually, I’m specifically here for an important person.”
