Chapter 13
Fiona’s mouth suddenly twitched, and she looked extremely shocked. Yet, Nathan’s cold expression showed that he did not seem to be lying.
“Humph! I didn’t expect that infertile woman to be so sensible. Knowing she can’t have children, she’s too ashamed to ask you for money. Nathan, please quickly bring Jessica back for me. I shall choose an auspicious day and get you two married. Three years ago, you missed such a wealthy marriage prospect once. Now, you must seize the opportunity. Don’t let it slip away again.”
Hearing the word “money,” Nathan became even more annoyed.
Emilia never asked him for money.
Three years into their marriage, she had not touched anything he had bought for her.
When she left, she did not take any expensive shoes, bags, or luxury items away. He was confused.
Nathan’s face turned gloomy, and he suddenly thought, “Didn’t Emilia marry me for these things? Why didn’t she take them?”
“Nathan, you have to seize the opportunity this time! Don’t miss it. Jessica. is the best marriage partner. You hurry up and marry her, aim for having two children within three years, and give me more chubby grandsons.”
Fiona’s words snapped Nathan, who had been lost in thought, back to reality.
After a long pause, he said coldly, “Grandpa knows about my divorce from Emilia.”
Fiona pondered, “Grandpa?”
The word “Grandpa” had successfully defeated Fiona’s inner joy. Noah had always disliked her.
Because of Nathan’s words, Fiona suddenly became wary and afraid.
“Nathan, go explain it to your Grandpa quickly.”
Fiona looked dejected, no longer displaying the excited chatter from
Chapter 13 earlier.
“By the way, don’t tell your Grandpa what I just said. Besides, you must marry Jessica as soon as possible. I’m waiting for my grandson to be born. Did you hear me?”
Nathan said nothing.
After a few seconds, he was irritated and went straight to the backyard to find Noah.
“Brat, tell me, why did you want to divorce Emilia? She’s such a great girl. Why don’t you cherish her? Go! Bring Emilia back quickly and remarry
her.”
Noah, who had gray hair on his temples but still had a healthy body, paced back and forth in front of Nathan with his hands clasped behind his back. He wore loose–fitting green velvet clothes. His wrinkled face was filled with a stern and angry expression as he scolded Nathan.
“I heard you divorced Emilia because of Jessica? You and Jessica are not al suitable match, and I disagree with this marriage. Have you forgotten that she abandoned you to study abroad three years ago? A woman who sacrifices you for her future, can she truly be devoted to you? Emilia is the one you should cherish and stand by. Sooner or later, you will regret this.” Noah kept lecturing Nathan as if he were disappointed and frustrated with Nathan’s actions.
Nathan thought, “Regret?”
The man stood upright in the sunlight, spoke calmly, and showed no emotion.
“Grandpa, I won’t regret it.”
In Nathan’s dictionary, the word “regret” never existed.
From the beginning to the end, he never agreed to marry Emilia. He would not have married her if it were not for Noah’s constant pressure.
Now he just did what he wanted to do three years ago.
However, Noah’s illness had not yet improved, and Nathan had always been filial. The latter did not want this matter to upset the former and worsen his condition.
Grandpa, please calm down. I know what I’m doing. Take good care of
yourself. I’ll come visit you another day.”
After saying that, Nathan got up and left.
“You! Bastard!”
Watching Nathan’s figure gradually receding into the distance, Noah was almost on the verge of spitting blood.
After Nathan left the Miller mansion, Shawn came to pick him up.
After getting into the car, Nathan held his temple, looking a little tired, but Shawn was somewhat excited. He informed, “Mr. Miller, we’ve found some clues about Ms. Saunders’s whereabouts!”
Nathan was still, and then he lifted his eyelids.
Shawn’s voice sounded overjoyed. “Our men just found out Ms. Saunders. appeared at a coffee shop in Mocset, and they even managed to také a few photos.”
“Let me take a look.”
Nathan took the phone and clicked on the file, but there was no picture
in it.
“What’s going on?”
Shawn’s eyes widened in disbelief. “I could clearly see it just now!”
Nathan’s gaze darkened.
Shawn would not lie to him and had no reason to do that.
He pondered, “Someone has been handling her whereabouts behind the scenes. Who is it, and why are they doing this?”
