Chapter 128
In addition to the gossip, there were some comments from those unaware of their past relationship.
A young entrepreneur who looked like a hot–headed guy looked at them. excitedly and exclaimed, “They are such a perfect match! An accomplished man and a beautiful woman. With their looks and influence, if they were to post a short video together, it would surely go viral!”
This young entrepreneur’s company was involved in new media planning, providing professional ideas and scripts for content creators to shoot their films in the new media industry. Seeing Emilia and Nathan standing together sparked his creative imagination and prompted his enthusiastic exclamation.
Emilia knew that his words were not malicious, but they sounded. uncomfortable.
She raised her gaze to meet the man’s, and her finely arched eyebrows revealed a hint of coolness. “Why not a talented woman and a handsome man?” she replied.
The young entrepreneur was stunned.
Emilia scoffed. “People always talk about a man’s talents as if they were something he was born with. But when it comes to a woman, no matter how many talents she possesses, they’re often overshadowed and overlooked as long as she has a slight advantage in appearance.”
The young entrepreneur was embarrassed and didn’t know what to say
for a moment.
With unwavering confidence, Emilia stood tall and proclaimed, “I don’t think I’m any less capable than he is. Besides, it’s quite obvious that Mr. Miller is handsome. So I think you should describe us as a talented woman and a handsome man. Don’t you think that’s more appropriate?”
Shawn was in a cold sweat, worrying about Emilia’s bold words.
“She doesn’t seem to be complimenting Mr. Miller… Besides, what man likes to be praised only for his appearance?” he thought.
He had expected Nathan to be angry, but to his surprise, Nathan displayed a subtle, approving smile after hearing Emilia’s words.

Shawn witnessed the scene clearly and took a deep breath.
He gave Emilia a thumbs–up in his heart.
She was now Emilia, the bossy CEO, no longer the meek and submissive
woman.
Shawn looked at Nathan. The latter was obviously attracted to Emilia without him realizing it. He didn’t get angry after what she said.
If anyone else had said that, Nathan would have been furious.
Several female entrepreneurs nodded slightly in agreement after hearing Emilia’s words.
She had spoken the thoughts of many female entrepreneurs. Thoughts they wanted to say, but they never did.
That way, everyone understood what was going on.
Emilia was well–prepared and unafraid to compete with Miller Group
and Nathan.
Those who thought Emilia would lose at the beginning began to look forward to this competition after listening to her confident words.
“Haha, anyone can talk big. Perhaps you should look at yourself and know your place!”
Suddenly, a strange voice interjected.
Madeline crossed her arms and walked to Emilia with a proud look. She looked contemptuous and mocked, “You’re hoping that a small company you just took over can compete against the Miller Group. How dare you. say that?”
When everyone heard this, they all looked at Emilia.
Madeline was known for her vicious tongue and was always ready to pick a fight with anyone. Her words carried a clear note of mockery. On the other hand, Emilia was not one to back down easily. They were expecting a spectacle.
Nathan’s face darkened when he saw Madeline.
He remembered that this woman had some connection to his mother, Fiona. Madeline was his aunt in seniority, but her accusations against Emilia deeply upset him.
Somehow he felt the urge to defend Emilia.
However, before Nathan could say anything, Emilia spoke first.
Emilia remained composed and didn’t get angry. She regarded Madeline with an air of elegance and calmness, her eyes cold and distant as she spoke, “Ms. Jimenez, please mind your words.”
She didn’t know Madeline but could sense the inexplicable hostility directed at her.
But she still couldn’t figure out why she was so hostile.
“Did I say anything wrong?”
Madeline sneered and retorted, her face nearly touching Emilia’s as she spoke.
Emilia hated being so close to someone whom she was unfamiliar with and frowned slightly.
Madeline went further, mocking her. She said, “Do you even understand software? Do you have any knowledge of new media? Do you know Nathan is a force to be reckoned with? He’s grown the Miller Group into what it is today alone. How dare you compare yourself to him in terms of talent? Who do you think you are?”
Madeline had been suppressing Emilia ever since. She kept questioning her abilities, which made Emilia very angry.
“How dare someone say I don’t understand software?” she thought.
Emilia tapped her fingers rhythmically on the side of her leg as if she were quickly typing code on a keyboard.
“If she thinks I don’t understand software, then no one in the world does,” Emilia thought.
She smiled and said coldly, “Who do you think you are? You’re not qualified to judge me!”
