Chapter 116
Emilia’s caustic retort infuriated Nathan greatly.
He couldn’t help but turn his head to look at her with a frown. “Emilia, this is for your own good. That man is rotten to the core. Don’t tell me you want to become one of his many mistresses?”
Hearing this, Emilia instantly scrounged her brows and her face turned ghastly.
“What does he mean by that? Does he think I’m so shameless? I’m not surprised. After all, Nathan was convinced that I got together with him solely because I was after the Miller family’s wealth. What more can I expect from him?” she scoffed internally.
“Even if I want to, what does this have to do with you, Mr. Miller? Who are you to dictate my actions?”
“I…”
Nathan’s words were stuck in his throat and he paused.
While they were divorced and no longer had anything to do with one another, this didn’t mean she could indiscriminately get together with
any men.
“I just don’t want the gossip column to come up with news that damages. my reputation.”
Nathan acted unbothered and resumed looking at his computer screen to continue working.
Emilia glared at him and sneered, “How ridiculous.
She then shut her eyes and went back to rest.
Shawn couldn’t help lamenting at the hostile back and forth between Emilia and Nathan.
At the end of the day, the third party will always be the one who understands the situation best. As a bystander, he had a gut feeling that Nathan and Emilia would end up with one another based on their interactions.
“When will Nathan realize his true feelings?” Shawn sighed deeply.

The plane landed steadily after two hours at the airport in the western district of Acocester.
Emilia grabbed her laptop and trench coat and moved to get off the plane. Unfortunately, she was impeded by Nathan, who hadn’t gotten up yet, as he was sitting next to the aisle.
“Excuse me.
Nathan glanced at her leisurely and took his time packing up his laptop before getting up to let her.
He was stalling.
Emilia had already lost her patience. She left quickly, yet wasn’t careful. enough and tripped over the bottom of the seat, losing balance.
“Be careful.”
Nathan held on to her in the nick of time and prevented her from falling.
Emilia breathed a long sigh of relief and muttered her thanks before withdrawing her arm and departing without a backward glance.
Nathan was stunned by the residual warmth in his palm senses, and only came back to himself when Shawn called him.
“Mr. Miller, we should alight the plane.”
Nathan withdrew his gaze and handed his computer bag to Shawn, heading straight to the cabin’s exit.
Emilia went to collect her checked luggage when she reached the arrival hall. She caught sight of Nathan and Shawn boarding a car with a local number plate nearby when she was done and on her way out.
“Good riddance! I won’t have to see them ever again!”
The car that Emilia’s secretary arranged to pick her up arrived shortly after.
The driver helped place her suitcase into the car and dropped her off at Grandous Hotel, a hotel she’d made a reservation at.
After Nathan and Shawn checked in at the reception, Shawn immediately dialed the Sylvonican interpreter he had an appointment with.
Nathan had an extremely crucial collaboration project during this trip to

Acocester. The other party was a Sylvonican enterprise. Therefore, the contract required an interpreter fluent in Sylvonican.
However, Shawn’s expression visibly darkened drastically when the call was connected.
After a while, he hung up the phone and returned to Nathan’s side. respectfully.
“Mr. Miller, the Sylvonican translator I previously contacted fell ill suddenly and couldn’t make it today. He said that he’s urgently sending his mentee in his stead…”
As soon as he finished speaking, a man resembling a student wearing dark–framed glasses and carrying a large black bag approached them.
“Are the two of you Mr. Miller and Mr. Larson? I’m Patrick, Mr. Marshall’s mentee who’ll take his place today.”
Shawn couldn’t help frowning at that.
He was in doubt of Patrick’s ability to translate a contract with so much complex jargon when he looked like he was still a student.
Nathan’s lips were pursed, his face was thunderous, and seemed rather dissatisfied when Patrick stole a glance at him.
“Mr. Miller…” Shawn uttered cautiously.
Nathan’s handsome face was unfeeling. “I’ll leave it to you. All I expect is for the contract to be accurately translated.”
He then abandoned Shawn and went straight to the elevator.
Patrick sensed the subtle tension in the atmosphere and assured Shawn, “Mr. Larson, don’t worry. I have a professional eighth–grade certificate. It will be fine!”
Whether or not it’d be fine could only be determined after giving it a try.
Shawn led Patrick to the lounge solemnly and presented the Clusian version of the contract that needed to be translated, handing it to him.
“This contract needs to be translated in one hour. Please take a look.”
It turned out that Shawn’s concern was not unwarranted.
Patrick took the document confidently and attempted to translate it.

However, he began struggling with it as early as the second paragraph, referring to a dictionary several times in one sentence. He wouldn’t be able to complete it in a day, let alone an hour, at this rate.
“Can you do it?” Shawn hurriedly urged, “This contract is of utmost importance and urgency and needs to be used this afternoon!”
Patrick anxiously scratched his ears and sweated profusely. After a while, he admitted weakly, “T–This is too difficult. Mr. Marshall didn’t inform me of this before I came here!”
“I don’t care! You better give me a solution! Find me another capable. translator. I expect to see the results by today!”
Shawn was also ticked off.
Not only were they stood up, but the person sent to replace him was far too unreliable.
With that, he turned around and left.
Patrick remained where he was and howled, “Mr. Marshall, you think too highly of me. How could I translate something so professional?”
He packed his things and went off. While he tried calling several professional Sylvonican translators consecutively, they all came up with various reasons to turn him down.
Patrick broke down and yelled, “Can anyone who knows Sylvonican come and help me!”
The lobby was bustling with activity, and several passers–by turned to look at him, assuming he had gone cuckoo.
Emilia happened to be checking in at the reception desk and glanced sideways at a boy who appeared to be a student.
She wondered, “Is it an emergency that required someone fluent in Sylvonican? I could volunteer.”
