Chapter 122
Emilia’s expression stiffened for a moment, and she became instinctively alert.
“Let go.
She really didn’t want to share the same space with him, especially alone.
The man raised an eyebrow. His tone tinged with provocation as he asked, “Why should I?”
“I don’t want to be with you. Besides, we both can’t stand each other. There are plenty of other elevators you can take,” Emilia replied and
reached for the “close door” button.
However, Nathan had anticipated her move and stepped into the elevator with a long stride just before she could close the doors.
He appeared nonchalant. “I’m in a hurry, and this elevator arrived first.”
Emilia was frustrated, looked away, and chose not to respond. She couldn’t believe her luck to run into Nathan at the hotel!
Just before the doors closed, another pair of hands stopped the door. Shawn gasped for breath and entered the elevator, muttering, “Mr. Miller, you walked too fast…”
When he noticed Emilia was also inside the elevator, he abruptly stopped. and sensed the strange atmosphere between the two. He quickly changed. the subject and nervously smiled to defuse the tension.
“Oh, Mrs. Miller, you’re here too… What a coincidence!”
The word “Mrs. Miller” caused Emilia to furrow her brows even more tightly.
She maintained a cold expression and reminded Shawn, “Mr. Larson, you can call me Ms. Saunders or simply Emilia. I have no connection with Nathan, so I can’t bear the title of Mrs. Miller.”
Shawn was skilled at reading the room, so when he saw that Emilia was clearly unhappy, he quickly adjusted his approach.
‘Ms. Saunders, are you here in Acocester… on a business trip?” he asked tentatively, but in reality, he was inquiring on behalf of Nathan.

His intuition told him that Nathan must be eager to know.
Nathan stood quietly in one corner of the elevator and appeared. nonchalant, but his attention was laser–focused on a particular point when Shawn asked the question.
Emilia softly replied, “Mm, just here for a meeting.”
She didn’t want to disclose any details about the summit to Nathan, nor did she think it was necessary.
When he heard her response, Shawn chuckled and said, “Ms. Saunders, you certainly lead a busy life. I was wondering, which room are you staying in?”
As soon as he finished speaking, the elevator reached the 16th floor, and the doors opened. Emilia didn’t answer his question; instead, she simply said, “This is my stop. I’ll go first.”
After she said that, she stepped out of the elevator. However, after a moment, she heard footsteps behind her and turned to find Nathan and Shawn not far behind.
Nathan had his hands casually in his pockets and appeared nonchalant, but the red slap mark on his face gave him a somewhat disheveled look.
Emilia turned her head and continued walking ahead, but even when she reached the door to her room, Nathan was still trailing her.
Unable to endure it any longer, she turned to glare at him. “Will you ever stop? Is following me around some kind of amusement for you?”
Nathan’s stern face remained unchanged as he extended his palm and revealed a keycard.
He glanced at Emilia and swiped the card on the door of the room next to hers.
Beep beep
The door opened.
Emilia was taken aback.
Was it just a coincidence that she ended up staying right next to this guy?
Nathan pocketed the keycard, crossed his arms, leaned against the door frame, and calmly observed her.

If you wanted to see me, you could have just said so directly. Going to such great lengths, taking the same flight to Acocester, staying in the same hotel on the same floor, and even right next door, all while. claining you’re not following me?”
Emilia was left speechless, not because of anything else but this guy’s
narcissism.
“Don’t be so conceited! If we’re going to talk like this, I might as well think you’re the one following me! Nathan, let me make this clear one last time. I have zero interest in you. Do you understand? If you do, then. please keep your distance. Goodbye!”
Emilia gave Nathan a piece of her mind, swiped her room–door open, and slammed it shut with a loud bang
Back in her room, she sighed heavily and leaned against the door,
Given her status, her secretary had booked her the premium suite in Acocester’s top hotel.
It was just that she had forgotten that Nathan was the CEO of Miller Group and naturally stayed in the premium suite as well.
What a small world.
She was beginning to regret coming to Acocester!
Outside the door, Nathan watched the tightly closed door before he gave a barely noticeable tug at the corner of his lips. He turned and entered the adjacent room.
