It was late at night when Nathan returned to the mansion, yet the lights. inside were still on.
For a moment, he was in a trance as if it was the old days when Emilia had left a light on and waited for him to come home at night.
He pushed open the door and was sobered by the reality that no one was there to greet him with a smile.
Emilia didn’t exist. They were divorced.
“Looks like I’m really drunk,” he mocked himself in his heart with a chuckle and walked into the mansion. His steps were slow and ponderous.
“Nathan, you’re finally back. I…”
