Chapter 18
Before long, Sophia strutted out with her backpack slung over her shoulder.
Mia was already chilling in the car. Sophia tried to convince herself she was just riding with Mia, no big deal.
No room for envy or jealousy!
Keeping her attitude in check, she took a deep breath and confidently hopped in the car.
“Mia, you know the way to school, right? I don’t need to play navigator, do I?” Sophia intentionally lifted her chin, treating Mia like she was just a chauffeur.
Mia, icy as ever, ignored her and flatly said, “Buckle up.”
Out of the blue, Mia floored it, and the Bugatti shot off, leaving Lily watching on in
concern.
She turned to Simba and asked, “Mia’s driving skills are good, right?”
Simba threw up his hands. “You’re only worrying about this now? A little läte, don’t you think…”
On the vanishing city road, Mia’s foot stayed heavy on the gas, pushing the car to the limit.
Sophia’s screams echoed around.
“No, no, slow down! Too fast!” Sophia’s pleas filled the air. Mia was taking every turn like a pro racer, nearly tossing Sophia out of the car.
“Fast? We’re not even halfway to this car’s top speed. The performance is top–notch; I want to push it to the max,” Mia said, ignoring Sophia’s shouts. She slammed the pedal, pushing the car even faster.
“No, please!” Sophia screamed. At this point, she didn’t care about her image. She gripped the safety handle and seatbelt, unable ntrol her wildly flying hair.
Mia relished every moment, swinging the steering wheel with one hand, looking as cool as ice compared to Sophia.
After what felt like forever, Sophia heard a screech, and the car stopped.
“We’re here,” Mia said, glancing at Sophia with a hint of mockery. Then, expressionless, she added, “Get out.”
Finally coming to her senses, Sophia realized they were at the entrance of Empford University.
But she was dizzy and disoriented; hair in chaos. She could barely open her eyes to confirm their arrival.
“Mia, just you wait…” Sophia shot Mia a resentful look, hands trembling as she unfastened her seatbelt and weakly stepped out of the car.
Mia couldn’t help but taunt, “What’s wrong, my little sister? Legs too wobbly? Need a hand getting to class?”
Shaking her head in frustration, Sophia wanted to curse, but she lacked the energy to do so. She felt so weak; even her limbs seemed to be betraying her.

As she opened her mouth, her stomach churned, and without caring about her image, she grabbed a nearby tree and vomited on the ground.
“Hey, isn’t that Sophia, the campus belle?”
“Yeah, looks like she’s puking!”
“Oh my god. that’s so gross!”
A chorus of comments turned Sophia’s face purple with embarrassment.
Sophia wasn’t exactly turning heads with her looks. She had dropped some serious cash at school to boost her image on the forum, making everyone think that she was the campus belle. But today, people were straight–up calling her gross! A crowd was forming, and people even whipped out their phones. Trying to save face, Sophia hollered, “What are you staring at? Never seen a campus belle before?”
Her outburst caused some classmates to chime in.
“Campus belle? Look in the mirror! Your hair’s a mess, far from a campus belle!”
“Haha, for real. I never thought she was hot. Just forum hype!”
“Maybe she hired some trolls herself!”
Her classmates spilled the tea, and Sophia felt publicly embarrassed. But the drama didn’t end there. Out of the blue, she heard cheers from where Mia’s Bugatti was parked.
“Whoa! Check out that sleek limited–edition Bugatti!”
“Yeah, super cool ride!”
“The chick behind the wheel… she’s stunning.”
“Totally… that’s the kind of beauty a campus belle should have!”
Amid the hype, Mia hesitated, then shockingly hopped out of the car, slamming the door. She strolled towards the school gate, ! ng eyes with Sophia.
While passing by her, Mia whispered, audible only to them, “You tried to drug me and damage my rep, so I’ll wreck your campus belle image. From now on, that title is mine.”
With that, she strutted into the school, leaving Sophia wide–eyed.
Mia actually knew everything?
Watching Mia becoming the center of attention, Sophia connected the dots.
Mia was hitting back. Earlier, she deliberately made Sophia puke to use that against her and ruin her campus belle image.
“Mia! I won’t let you off the hook!” Furious, Sophia yelled, but nobody cared. All eyes were on Mia.
Grinning triumphantly, Mia savored Sophia’s reaction.
After receiving fancy gifts for two days straight and settling the score with Sophia, she was on cloud nine.
Some people behind her were buzzing, and even as Mia entered Above–average Class,

everyone was baffled.
“Is she in Above–average Class?”
“I’ve never seen her before.”
“Maybe she’s a transfer student?” The chatter continued. Even Above–average Class students were clueless about Mia. With multiple mixed–class exams, many students didn’t recognize her, so even her classmates were in the dark.
Mia didn’t bother explaining and casually snagged an empty seat.
As Mr. Brown had mentioned, she could drop in anytime and sit wherever she pleased in Above–average Class.
“Wow, she’s a knockout.”
“Yeah, finally, some beauty in our class.” Seeing Mia take a seat and play with her hair, the male students in the class got antsy.
Stella overheard the chatter and, annoyed, pushed up her glasses, heading straight for Mia. “What Above–average Classre you in? You can’t just waltz into a Above–average Classnd pick a seat randomly. Only people with no manners do that!”
Mia gave Stella a slight frown.
For some reason, just one look from Mia made Stella feel cold for a moment. It was brief, though, and she regained her composure. “Why are you staring like that? This is Above–average Class, the cream of the crop. Not a spot for just anyone. We haven’t heard of any transfers in our class. Please leave now!”
