Chapter 14
Mia felt uneasy when her parents stared at her and didn’t know where to direct her gaze.
Yosef frowned and said, “Mom, Dad, don’t stare at Mia. She’ll feel uncomfortable.”
Even though Yosef just met Mia for the first time, he showed her
great
consideration.
“Did you see that? Yosef is so considerate of Mia even though they only just met! It’s arnazing how strong family bonds can be,” exclaimed Simba with delight.
Then he added, “It’s great. Brothers should always take care of their sisters.” He was glad that Yosef appeared less cold and aloof around Mia.
Withdrawing his gaze, Yosef thought of something important.
“Which school do you go to now, Mia?” he asked, feeling a strong urge to help his sister with something.
“I…” Mia didn’t get to say anything important before Lily interrupted her.
“Mia is a student at Empford University. She even achieved the highest SAT scores in her class,” she said, her face beaming with pride.
“Empford University? The highest SAT scores?” Yosef frowned and then understood. “So Dad made this arrangement.”
He realized that he was too late and thought that he could make it up to Mia some other
way.
Lily shook her head and explained, “Your dad didn’t do anything. Mr. Brown invited your sister.”
“Mr. Brown?” Yosef was surprised. “You know Mr. Brown, Mia?”
Many people knew Mr. Brown, who had great power, but not everyone could be accepted into Empford University.
“I don’t know him. I had the top sc on the SATs in my class, so I…” Mia kept her real connection with Mr. Brown a secret from Yosef.
Yosef suddenly understood.
Mia had higher SAT scores than he and his brothers. Every university’s headmaster would compete for her.
“I’m impressed,” Yosef said sincerely.
“You’re being too kind.” Mia smiled, not intending to take the compliment seriously.
Simba remembered something and asked, “Yosef, weren’t you one of the top students in your class when you first started university? What was your rank?”
Yosef raised his eyebrows. He was well–known in college and consistently ranked in the top three for his grades.
But he didn’t want to bring it up because Mia was far more excellent than him.
Lily exclaimed, “I can’t believe you don’t remember your son’s college achievements. Yosef came in second place for SAT scores when he started university, right?”

“I want my sister to think that I’m a powerful older brother, but my parents are ruining it for me,” thought Yosef, feeling embarrassed for the first time, and he could only nod stiffly.
Mia saw his awkward expression clearly and was amused.
“Yosef seems aloof, but he’s actually an interesting and self–conscious young man,” she pondered.
She decided to help him out and said, “Mom, this is the first time I’ve ever seen Yosef. Why don’t we prepare a delicious meal to celebrate it?”
“Sure thing. I’ll cook,” said Lily before going to the kitchen.
Simba smiled and said, “I’ll go upstairs and change my clothes. You guys talk.”
With him and Lily absent, Mia heaved a sigh of relief.
Yosef saw that she was nervous and assumed that she probably wasn’t used to her new home. After thinking for a while, he said, “I want to take you to someplace.”
“What? Oh, okay…” Despite her uncertainty about Yosef’s destination, she trailed behind him and left the living room.
After a while, they stopped outside a room on the fourth floor.
Mia was confused. It was just a room. Why did he bring her here?
“Here.” Yosef took out a key from his pocket and handed it to her.
She looked at the key and felt even more confused. “Is this your room?”
“Open it and take a look.” Yosef didn’t answer her question. Instead, he smiled and placed the key in her palm.
Mia didn’t ask any more questions and unlocked the door.
The moment she pushed the door open, she was shocked by what she saw.
It was a princess–themed room, and its pink interior evoked a fairytale–like feeling.
But it didn’t look childish at all. Al. …. furniture and decorations were made by top designers, and there was a huge balcony and an outdoor garden.
It was much better than her room and Sophia’s room.
“Who lives here?” Mia had only been in Wilson Manor for a few days and didn’t know this place well, so she naturally had no idea whose room it was.
“If you’re willing, you can have this room from now on.” Yosef smiled at her with affection.
He seemed overjoyed, as if he had released a heavy emotional burden.
“This is… for me?!” Mia looked at him in surprise.
She didn’t anticipate that he would gift her a room during their initial encounter.
“Yes, I had this room designed and decorated for my sister a while back…” Yosef said, admiring the beautiful furnishings. He stopped speaking mid–sentence.
When his folks informed him that they had found his younger sis, he prepared this room for her. However, when he later met Sophia, he just didn’t like her, and even he couldn’t figure out why. Therefore, the room remained empty. He added decorations to it from time

to time.
“Since it’s for your sister, then why didn’t Sophia move in?” After all, Sophia returned to the Wilson family before she did.
“She and I are not close,” Yosef said.
Mia was embarrassed for a moment.
Yosef was sometimes too straightforward.
He and Sophia had been family for so many years, but he just said they were not close. If Sophia were to hear this, she would be furious.
“Now that I think about it, maybe it’s because of the bonds of blood. A fake is a fake.” Yosef appeared extremely rational.
Mia immediately understood everything.
A fake couldn’t become real. Even though the Wilsons gave Sophia extra attention to make up for their guilt, they were not actually a real family. Yosef was not blinded by guilt; he was intelligent.
Yosef approached the wall and tapped the screen that displayed 3D images of the room. “This is a smart room. You can switch between the different decorations with ease. It has a top–of–the–line computer and sound equipment, and more.”
He gave her a rundown of the entire room’s functions in his longest sentence ever.
Mia’s eyes widened.
She had seen all kinds of amazing things in her life…
But this room was simply tailor–made for her! There was actually a top–notch computer with two screens!
Even in the Base, this would be one of the best! In the future, she could even do hacking tasks from home!
The room decor could be changed at any time. The room had two balconies, located on the north and south ends, and had a manor and beach feel to it. Stepping out onto the balcony made her feel like she was on vacation. It was a very luxurious experience!
